Warwick Day Out
Warwick Day Out
I had a half day at work to take so on wednesday afternoon I took a half day around warwick. I booked a tour of the town museum and had a walk around the castle which I have a neighbour’s pass for.
Museum
The museum is very good for a small town museum it has a strong natrual history focus with a good collection of fossils and animals (it also has a live bee colony which is interesting to see in action). It also has some hsitoric pieces particularly interesting is an old tapestry map showing warwickshire around the 1600. It is interesting to see the small villages that have been swallowed up by the urbanisation of coventry and birmingham and the different scale of habitation then. As well as seeing the varient spelling / names of some places.
I would like to try and volenteer with the collections here if that becomes possible post pandemic.
Warwick Castle
Warwick castle is always a nice place to have a walk around it is a lot quieter on a weekday and there was less going on but it was nice to take my time and wander. I went around the state rooms which have been set up as a 1900’s party.
